News: Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Gets Turquoise Gradient Dial With Updated Bracelet

Omega's latest release is — you guessed it— a new Seamaster as we near the end of 2024. However, unlike other recent debuts, this one is not an addition to the Diver 300M collection but instead a pair of new Aqua Terra models. For those unfamiliar with it, the Aqua Terra is the dressier and highly versatile Seamaster subfamily that is as comfortable being worn with a business suit as it is by the pool. Though most of the time-and-date models have been characterized by the horizontal “teak” pattern on the dial since the collection was refreshed back in 2017, this year saw some interesting releases, like the black-lacquer-dial models in 34, 38, and 41mm. Now, Omega has released a pair of 38 and 41mm Seamaster Aqua Terra watches in steel, with a new turquoise gradient dial also done in lacquer.

Also of note is that this pair of fresh Aqua Terras are outfitted with the updated three-link bracelet which introduced a long-awaited micro-adjustment feature. Getting back to the dials, these offer an interesting take on turquoise from Omega, especially with the deeper gradient tone that gradually darkens to black around the edges. I think it’s a wonderfully attractive dial that enhances the symmetrical dial layout, with the trapezoidal date window at 6 o’clock.

While aesthetically nearly identical, these are not just two different case sizes for the same basic watch. The smaller 38mm model is outfitted with the Co-Axial Chronometer Caliber 8800, which operates at 3.5 Hz and has a 55-hour power reserve. Measuring 38mm wide and 12.3mm thick, with a 45.1mm lug-to-lug measurement, this smaller model has a 19mm lug width.

The bigger 41mm model is outfitted with the Co-Axial Chronometer Caliber 8900 movement, which also operates at 3.5 Hz but has a slightly longer 60-hour power reserve. This case measures 41mm wide and 13.4mm thick, with a 48mm lug-to-lug measurement and a 20mm lug width. Both are antimagnetic to 15,000 gauss and have 150 meters of water resistance, of course.
