Blancpain X Swatch Fifty Fathoms Scuba Goes Pink With Latest "Pink Ocean" Collaboration

Blancpain and Swatch have just released the first Fifty Fathoms Scuba collaboration of 2025, and it might just be the most out-there model yet – at least in terms of its color palette. With the release of the Fifty Fathoms Scuba Pink Ocean, the pair has gone all-in with a maximalist approach to pink, with punchy shades of the color plastered on nearly every visible millimeter of the watch — which is inspired by a little-known sea creature in the nudibranch family. 

This piece within the larger ocean-inspired collection draws upon the deep sea-dwelling nudibranch, a group of “soft-bodied marine gastropod mollusks.” The particular vibrant pink hues chosen are directly connected with Ceratodoris Rosacea nudibranch, also known as the Hopkin’s Rose due to its unique coloring. While the species name sounds like it may refer to a skin condition that would warrant a trip to the dermatologist, the animal looks somewhat like a combination of a sea anemone and a handful of aquatic worms. Paying the sea slug of its inspiration proper tribute, you can find an image of the Hopkin’s Rose rendered on the watch’s caseback. 

The pair might have "pinked" the Bioceramic Fifty Fathoms Scuba, but there hasn’t been any nefarious "shrinking" involved. All the quintessential DNA of the reasonably-priced line is accounted for — from the familiar design cues that harken to the world’s first diver’s watch; to the 42.3mm diameter (50mm lug-to-lug); to the mechanical SISTEM51 movement that keeps this watch ticking, which has a power reserve up to 90 hours. Since this is a dive watch after all, the Pink Ocean take on the Fifty Fathoms Scuba is water resistant to 300 meters, and of course, features a unidirectional diving bezel. 

Given that this is a watch (and an entire collection, really) largely inspired by the natural world, it is only fitting that there’s at least some consideration for sustainability taken into account in its construction. As we’ve seen across the Fifty Fathoms Scuba line, the case and crown are made from bioceramic material, which makes the watch not only resistant to scratches and general wear and tear, but utilizes castor oil in its production. Additionally, the fabric of the two-piece NATO strap, which in this case has a pink-and- white stripe pattern, has been made from recycled fishing nets.
