Rolex GMT-Master II Debuts in Two New Steel Variations
Two new GMT-Master II models make their debut in Oystersteel cases, both featuring the same gray-and-black high-tech ceramic bezel introduced on last year’s version. The graduation of the bezel is made even more visible thanks to the use of a PVD treatment on the molded, recessed numbers used for the 24-hour scale.One model is mounted on Rolex’s classic three-link Oyster bracelet, the other on the five-link Jubilee bracelet, both in Oystersteel. Rolex Sky-Dweller Debuts in Gold on Jubilee Bracelet
Rolex has launched the Sky-Dweller in two new iterations for 2024, both in 42mm Oyster cases made of 18k gold and both mounted on Jubilee bracelets — a first for the Sky-Dweller model. One of the new Sky-Dwellers combines a case made of Rolex's own Everose gold alloy with a compelling slate-colored dial. the other marries an intense white dial to a case made of yellow gold. Rolex Dresses Up Perpetual 1908 in Platinum and Ice Blue
Rolex has unveiled a new Perpetual 1908 model in a platinum case and an elegantly executed ice-blue dial with a guilloché rice-grain motif. The delicate, eye-catching geometrical pattern blossoms in the manner of a rosette on the surface of the dial, which also employs another type of hand-applied guilloché, a crimped, filet sauté pattern, for the minute track. Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT Features New METAS Caliber
For the first time, a GMT model joins the versatile, mega-popular subfamily of the Black Bay, the Black Bay 58, which derives its name from the year Tudor released the historic Oyster Prince Submariner Ref. 7924, the purest forerunner of the modern Black Bay, and which has found favor among enthusiasts for its understated 39mm case diameter. The steel case of the Black Bay 58 GMT will fit the bill for many wearers with its 12.8mm thickness and 47.8mm lug-to-lug measurement. Watches & Wonders 2024: Vacheron Constantin Refreshes the Patrimony Collection
The modern Patrimony family that sprang from a 1957 historical timepiece turns 20 years old in 2024, and took center stage at Watches & Wonders Geneva — with two new manual-winding watches, in white gold and pink gold, and an additional white-gold model that adds a moon-phase display and a retrograde date to the minimalist two-handed time display. The two new Patrimony Manual-Winding models are noteworthy for their new, smaller case diameter — 39mm down from the 40mm of the predecessors, a subtle alteration that is in keeping with the modern trends, especially in dress watches. Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse Channels ‘70s Style with Gold Chain Bracelet
Patek Philippe revealed the latest version of its historic Golden Ellipse dress watch, one of the new timepieces generating buzz in the halls of the expo. The original Golden Ellipse, launched in 1968, is Patek Philippe’s second oldest existing model behind the Calatrava. Its odd elliptical case, combining elements of an oval and a rectangle, took its influence from the “golden mean” of ancient Greek mathematicians and the basis of numerous artistic and architectural masterpieces throughout history. At Watches & Wonders 2024, as the high-complication centerpiece of its refreshed Portugieser collection, IWC has achieved the latest milestone in the category, unveiling the aptly named Portugieser Eternal Calendar, the first timepiece whose calendar, leap years and all, will be precise for 400 years without corrections, and whose moon-phase display will remain accurate for an astonishing 45 million years.
