And the fresh Opaline dial feels just like an old friend.
The spartan GMT in the Black Bay Pro model line now has a polar opposite for 2025. The three-year-old model gets a deserved refresh, offering a lighter take on the original black dial. This new version carries black rimmed ceramic hour markers, hour & minute hands, and a white date wheel to match. Black dial text keeps things minimal and contrasts with the 24-hour hand in the familiar yellow color we’ve come to love.
Unlike its dark dial sibling, there are no patinated accents here. The Polar Pro is a crisp, contemporary take living in the present. The opaline dial feels right at home, like it was always meant to be this way. In this execution, the opaline appears to be more of a crisp white than a warmer off-white seen on the Black Bay GMT. The brighter dial on this Polar Pro is a welcome addition, no doubt.
Dimensions remain true to form at 39mm across by 14.6mm thick with a 20mm riveted bracelet and Tudor’s renowned “T-fit” clasp. The Black Bay Pro is establishing itself as an austere take on the GMT theme within the Tudor catalog.
Inside the 200m water-resistant case is the COSC-certified MT5652, carrying a “weekend proof” 70 hours of power reserve. It would have been nice to see the METAS movement here, but I could see that Tudor may not want to overlap with something like the BB58 GMT so close in the catalog. This helps keep prices different enough to help price-sensitive consumers with decision-making.
All in all, it’s just a dial color. But, in my mind, that’s all this watch needed. It’s a solid size, appealing to enthusiasts and mass-market buyers alike. The black dial has its appeal, but if the faux-patina accents aren’t your thing and you still a fixed bezel GMT, the Polar Pro gives you an option that feels firmly modern with subtle callbacks that give a feeling of long-established character.
The Black Bay Pro with opaline dial starts at 3,750 CHF on strap and extends to 4,050 on bracelet. This is an attractive price for a COSC-certified traveler GMT with a high level of fit and finish. I’m usually a fan of black dials, almost exclusively; here I prefer the polar. For more information, visit the Tudor website here.

I immediately got flashbacks to the Rolex Explorer of the 90’s with that white dial and steel bezel. Beautiful in my opinion and the domed crystal will look great in person. Looking forward to seeing one of these in the wild.
