Breitling Launches Navitimer Cosmonaute Artemis II With Blue Meteorite Dial

Short on Time

Breitling honors the Artemis II mission with the new limited edition Navitimer B02 Chronograph 41 Cosmonaute Artemis II in a steel case with blue meteorite dial and manual-wind B02 movement.

Just released by Breitling is the new Navitimer B02 Chronograph 41 Cosmonaute Artemis II limited-edition watch that pays tribute to the just-completed lunar flyby mission. Limited to 450 pieces, this watch comes in the unique configuration of a 41mm steel case with a blue meteorite dial and the manual-wind Breitling manufacture Caliber B02 movement. Considering the other two Navitimer Cosmonaute models are precious metal models, the stainless steel case here makes for a less “out of this world” price tag of $11,900. And for those unfamiliar, the original Navitimer Cosmonaute was Breitling’s foray into the space race when it was worn by astronaut Scott Carpenter in the 1962 Mercury Atlas 7 mission. Indeed, this new edition is the model we saw on the wrist of the four astronauts on Artemis II which we covered here.

The Navitimer B02 Chronograph 41 Cosmonaute Artemis II comes in a 41mm wide and 13mm thick steel case with 30m of water resistance. You’ve got the classic Navi-touches like the slide rule bezel and tri-compax chronograph layout with counters at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. I believe this is only the second time Breitling is using a meteorite dial (with the first being last year’s Erling Haaland Signature Chronomat) but the blue color looks really nice and stays on theme with the space suits, too.

The B02 is Breitling’s special manual-wind, column wheel, vertical clutch chronograph movement, which displays the time in a 24-hour format and operates at 28,800 vph with a 70-hour power reserve. The B02 is a manually wound version of the B01 and is quite highly regarded, especially at this price point. The movement is finished with Rhodium plating, Geneva stripes throughout, and an embossed Artemis II mission logo on the case back.

Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute Artemis II

The Breitling Navitimer B02 Chronograph 41 Cosmonaute Artemis II is a timely and attractive watch that also happens to be a more affordable entryway to the more hard-to-find Cosmonaute iteration of the Navitimer. Of course, the special meteorite dial and price of $11,900 will likely make these 450 pieces go fast. You can learn more at breitling.com.
