Accutron's Proprietary Electrostatic Movement. The electrostatic energy is created by twin turbines that rotate as a result of human motion at incredible speeds between two electrodes affixed to the movement. The energy, stored in an accumulator, powers two motors; a world’s first electrostatic motor fueling the fluid second hand and a step motor powering the hour and minute hands.Power saving function: To ensure power saving, the second hand automatically stops at 12 o'clock after 5 minutes of non activity. Your timepiece continues to keep time, the hour hand and the minute hand keep moving. When you would like to see the second hand's motion, please swing arm fully up and down for 3 to 5 seconds. Once powered, the second hand gradually returns to the current second indication and the power save function is canceled.

About Accutron
Advanced Timekeeping
Introduced as a part of Bulova’s collection in 1960, the Accutron, which based its timekeeping on a battery-powered tuning fork mechanism, grew to become a symbol of technological advancement in a watch industry often stuck in the past. Today, Accutron exists as its own entity, with an intriguing collection of tech-oriented watches that speak to the brand’s unique heritage while also pushing the boundaries in terms of design and engineering at more approachable price points.
