Hamilton Answers The Call Of Duty With Khaki Field Modern Warfare 4 Edition

Hamilton Watch Company, founded in Lancaster in 1892, has been known as a maker of field-ready military watches since the early 20th Century, and the brand is renowned in the modern era as a supplier of watches to movie and television productions (more than 500 as of this writing, and counting). The stainless steel case measures 38mm in diameter and 9.5mm thick and sports a sandblasted black PVD finish for a tactical “stealth” look. The dial is also black, with a rugged grained texture that enforces its field-ready design, and incorporates the game’s familiar numeral “4” at 4 o’clock, in a typography distinct from that of the other Arabic numeral markers. The hands and hour markers are all coated in X2 Super-LumiNova for a bright glow during night missions (or just civilian evening excursions).

The solid caseback also features iconography from the game, specifically an engraved version of the “soundwave” graphic element that has come to be heavily associated with the Call of Duty series. Behind that distinctive caseback beats Hamilton’s mechanical, manually wound Caliber H-50, which is equipped with a hacking seconds function — a useful feature if you’re actually using the watch to time a military op — as well as a magnetic-resistant Nivachron balance spring. The movement’s hand-winding operation is a throwback to the earliest Hamilton field watches, in the wartime years before the widespread adoption of self-winding watches, while its 80-hour power reserve is decidedly modern.

The case of the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Modern Warfare 4 edition (Ref. H69469930) is water resistant to 50 meters, with a nonreflective sapphire crystal over the dial.
