A not-so-hot take of ours is that dress watches, outside of water-resistant scenarios, are among the most versatile pieces to wear with casual attire, period. Despite this, many are afraid to give them a try, underestimating their ability to be worn on a daily basis for many. In that spirit, today, we will look at the top dress watches from major brands.
Before we dig in, there are a few guidelines. First and foremost, these brands must excel in making dress watches and we will pass on brands that don’t generally engage in the genre; think TAG Heuer, Breitling, and Audemars Piguet for example. Second, there are no microbrands or independents here, as to make the cut, we’ll be talking about well-established brands from the top 30ish in sales and market data for collectors.
One more point before we begin: we’re not defaulting to a brand’s most expensive model. Sure the De Ville Central Tourbillon from Omega could potentially be considered their best dress watch, however, suggesting a $250,000 watch from Omega doesn’t seem like valuable insight to you all. And as always, these are just my opinions.
