Since its founding in 1926 by Hans Wilsdorf, TUDOR has developed a reputation for rugged tool watches, supplying timepieces to professional divers, including the French Marine Nationale and the U.S. Navy SEALs. After withdrawing from the American market for a few years, TUDOR returned to the United States in 2013 and quickly found success with enthusiast favorites like the Black Bay and Pelagos, which blend vintage-inspired design with modern performance. In 2021, TUDOR moved production to a new state-of-the-art manufacture in Le Locle, Switzerland. The brand continues to expand its in-house movement production and is working toward having all new models achieve Master Chronometer certification through METAS.
