We are on the ground at the 2024 games, and captured as many watches on the wrists of spectators as possible.
We are currently in the throes of the Paris 2024 Summer Games. Okay fine, the tail end. From track events to basketball to – um – 3x3 basketball to speed climbing, we once again find ourselves immersed in sporting events we otherwise may not have ever known existed let alone cheered for. With the closing ceremony upon us this weekend, it feels like the time to start looking back at the Paris games.
I had the very good fortune to be in attendance for three days in Paris, where I watched beach volleyball (with the Eiffel Tower looming large over the venue); caught the aforementioned 3x3 Basketball competition, which was surprisingly captivating; saw horse jumping on the grounds of Versailles; and had a front row (in the splash zone) seat to a slew of swimming events.
With Omega serving as the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games (cue Noah Lyles' photo finish), you better believe the scene was filled with amazing Omega watches. And of course I came prepared, camera in-hand, to capture both the atmosphere and the wrist candy on the ground in Paris.
The following images feature watches from both the vintage variety and the modern collection, with an Olympic edition thrown in for good measure. I tried my best to capture as much heat as possible, so I hope you all enjoy. Let me know your favorite watch in the comments for sure.
